Florida Lotto› Florida Lotto
The Florida Lotto is drawn twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday and has a minimum jackpot of $2 million. As there is no rollover cap in place, jackpots regularly roll over to generate top prizes worth tens of millions of dollars. Players are required to match six numbers from a possible 53 in order to win the jackpot and there are an additional three prize tiers for players who match fewer numbers.
Florida Lotto players also have the option to add XTRA to their game for a small additional stake. The XTRA number, from 2 to 5, is drawn at random following the main draw and this number will determine by how much the non-jackpot cash prizes will be increased. Florida Lotto with XTRA also offers a free lottery ticket to players who match just two numbers.

Florida Lotto History
The Florida Lotto was first introduced in January 1988 with a six from 49 matrix and draws being held every Saturday. Initially, jackpots could be claimed only as an annuity option but in the second half of 1998 the cash option was introduced, allowing jackpot winners to claim their prizes as a single lump-sum payment.
In October 1999 the Florida Lotto underwent some major format changes, which included increasing the matrix to six from 53 and adding a Wednesday draw. To date, the Florida Lotto follows this format.
In October 2009 Florida Lotto With XTRA began, offering players the chance to multiply their non-jackpot cash winnings or win a free lottery ticket for matching two numbers. XTRA is a side game to the Lotto, which players can opt into for a small additional stake.
