Indiana Hoosier Lotto History
The first Indiana Lotto draw game was held in April 1990 with the original name of Lotto Cash and initially required players to match six out of 44 numbers to win the jackpot.
In September 1994 the game was renamed as the Indiana Hoosier Lotto and the matrix was scaled up to six from 48. Despite the introduction of a variety of scratch cards, secondary daily draw games, and multi-state games such as Mega Millions, the main Indiana Hoosier Lotto has remained unchanged to date. The biggest-ever jackpot reached $54.4 million and was won by a retired steelworker named Peter Gilbert.
